Seven year old Lily-Luna blinked owlishly up at her eldest brother, then stated plainly, “I’m not going to move if you keep dragging me, James.”
His jaw twitched, but before he could bite out a reply, Molly was striding towards them, losing the ground she had just gained while the two were left behind the group. “For heavens’ sake, James.” She grasped him by the wrist and pried his fingers from Lily’s. “Leave her alone. She’s perfectly fine.” Lily’s small, grateful smile spoke to the assurance, and James just rolled his eyes and hopped over the tree trunk. “If she gets tangled and stuck in something, I’m not going to be the one getting her out!”
